my semi-ordinary life…

i turned a year older today.

for the past 10 years since i started working, it has only been once that i went to work on my birthday.  when i was still living in the philippines, i would spend my natal day in the beauty salon, and going to the spa and shopping.  for the past four years that i been in the states though, i have travelled…  in 2005, i went to sacramento / lake tahoe / reno.  in 2006, miami / key west. in 2007, new york.

and this year, i am back in manila celebrating with issah (we have the same birthday but we were born five years apart)… and nothing can beat the joy of a simple celebration with the people i hold dear to my heart.  actually, today is just icing on the cake. this whole vacation has been amazing!  compared to my visit last year, i got to spend more quality time with my family, especially my dad and my sister&brother-in-law.  and that is the most important gift i’ve received this year.  well, that… and mario.

all i wish for my birthday is that my dad get better.  it saddens me to see him like this.

i pray to GOD for his healing.

that would be the best gift of all.
