a new start

this month has probably been the busiest that i’ve ever been. i’ve never had an idle moment, i’ve been on the go since the first of september, starting with the labor-day weekend vacation, the move and getting things organized, the recent 12 hour/day work load… but it’s been all good… tiring, but good.
after three and a half years, i finally have my own place. i feel so grown up and independent. hehe. of course i get paranoid sometimes, and watching that episode of Criminal Minds last night , where a killer breaks into homes of single females doesn’t help, but overall, i’m enjoying every moment of living by myself.
most of my stuff are still scattered on the floor as the rest of my bookshelves haven’t arrived yet. i cannot believe how much stuff i’ve accumulated through the years, nor can i believe how they have fit in the small room in joyce’s house where i’ve lived for the past two years.

i only have the essentials now, a bed frame and mattress, a refrigerator, of course, my computer table, and a television. i eat, japanese style, on the box of the television since i don’t have a dining table yet, nor a couch. sometimes i’m thinking that i should just buy the cheap plastic stuff, but i want to have a really comfortable place that i will look forward to going home to every day, so a nice dining table and a comfy couch will have to wait until i get the budget for it.

my boyfriend has been great through all these, he never, ever complained of having to carry my heavy stuff up a flight of stairs to the second floor, nor did i hear anything when he was putting together my bed and the computer table, thank you, mahal. (note: do not buy Ikea products unless you’re ready to assemble them).
